Hiking and Jogging

Thanks for your interest in Hotel Chalet Tirol. Here you can do different types of activities to replenish your soul and body.

One of them is hiking and jogging either in our own, Cloud Forest Reserves or on the upper reaches of the mountains above our hotel, seeing the Cerro Dantas facilities or the waterfall of “Rio de las Vueltas”

One of the areas for this activity is a trail of approximately 2.5 miles that could be crossed in 3 or 4 hours walking slowly, admiring the vegetation of this place, and having a chance to see a large variety of birds including the Quetzal. All this accompanied by an expert guide.

You can find here numerous types of  bromeliads, orchids, heliconias, unusual fungi and mushrooms. .Multicolored insects and songbirds like the black-faced solitaire, providing a variety of sensory entertainment for the passerbyFor your comfort, we recommend bringing rain gear and sturdy hiking shoes, preferably boots because the trail could be muddy. Do not forget a camera and binoculars.

Remember Costa Rica is near the Equator and experiences mild seasonal changes, however the driest season is generally between January and April and the wettest in December. The highest altitude in this area is 2.500 meters above sea level. Because of such altitude and irregular topography, many micro climates in this area produce spectacular bio-diversity.
